Munich, September 25, 2026 – A dead body at the Oktoberfest, and a case that seems to raise more questions than can be answered before the festivities come to an end. As they search for the killer, the festival tents and amusement rides of the world's largest folk festival become an impenetrable labyrinth for detectives Buvak (Carlo Ljubek) and Hammermann (Ferdinand Hofer).
Directed by Aron Lehmann (Lies About My Mother), filming for TATORT: TEUFELSRAD (working title) has been underway in and around Munich since September 15, 2026, with several shooting days taking place directly at the Oktoberfest. Alongside Ferdinand Hofer and Carlo Ljubek, the cast includes Jutta Speidel, Martin Feifel, Pola Jane O'Mara, Hannes Ringlstetter, Simon Pearce, Anna Bardavelidze, and Eva Karl Faltermeier, among others.
The screenplay was written by Robert Löhr. TEUFELSRAD (working title) is produced by AMALIA FILM GmbH, with Felix von Poser serving as producer. The film is scheduled to be broadcast in 2027.
TATORT: TEUFELSRAD (working title) is the third case for Munich's new investigative duo, Nikola Buvak (Carlo Ljubek) and Kalli Hammermann (Ferdinand Hofer). Their first two cases, BETWEEN WORLDS (Zwischenwelten) and A SAFE DEATH (Der sichere Tod), are expected to air in the first half of 2027.
SynopsisKalli Hammermann (Ferdinand Hofer) and Nikola Buvak (Carlo Ljubek) are called to investigate a murder at the Oktoberfest. Behind the scenes, they find the body of a man dressed in traditional lederhosen. Was he the victim of a robbery gone wrong, or did a beer stein brawl turn deadly?
Hammermann and Buvak are racing against time. The Oktoberfest will soon come to an end, after which witnesses and potential suspects will scatter across the country, and valuable leads may disappear. The detectives receive support from Police Sergeant Luzie Rendl (Pola Jane O'Mara) from the Oktoberfest police station, as well as Gexi Weidner (Jutta Speidel), the operator of the legendary Teufelsrad ("Devil's Wheel") attraction.
As the investigation progresses, it becomes clear that the victim was far from a stranger at the Oktoberfest. Yet the more witnesses the detectives interview, the more contradictory the picture becomes. The case grows as colorful, noisy, and bewildering as the Oktoberfest itself, and the investigators risk losing their way in the chaos.
